First Aid at Work Course (3 Days)

Course Overview

Our 3-Day First Aid at Work (FAW) Course provides comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for individuals who may be required to act as the designated first aider in their workplace. This course goes beyond emergency basics, covering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the management of a wide range of injuries and illnesses, and the responsibilities of a workplace first aider in higher-risk environments.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK characterises the First Aid at Work (FAW) training as not only encompassing the same principles as the EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) but also providing additional skills for managing specific injuries and illnesses.

This comprehensive course surpasses the EFAW in scope, preparing employees not just for various situations but particularly for emergency scenarios.

Our Blended First Aid at Work Course uniquely combines online learning with a 7-hour practical session in a classroom. For those preferring traditional methods, we offer a fully classroom-based First Aid at Work course.

What Will You Learn in the Blended First Aid at Work Course?

Participants will acquire the essential skills to confidently provide first aid in the workplace. The course covers extensive knowledge on handling first aid emergencies.

Key Topics in the Blended First Aid at Work Course:

• Compliance with HSE regulations, including first aid kits, and incident/accident recording
• Evaluating casualties
• Techniques in recovery position and CPR
• Managing choking and airway obstructions
• Addressing both major and minor bleeding (external and internal)
• Treating injuries to eyes, ears, and nose, managing fractures, muscle, and joint injuries
• Addressing head and spinal injuries
• Recognition and treatment of various shocks (including anaphylactic and electric)
• Management of burns, scalds, heart conditions, and stroke
• Responding to seizures, diabetes, and poisoning cases
• Operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Both written and practical assessments.
